Camp on the shores of Lake Windermere and explore the southern lakes from this site.
Previously known as Braithwaite Fold, this member favourite campsite undergone extensive refurbishment during 2022 to reopen as Bowness on Windermere Club Site. Visitors new and returning will be welcomed at a new reception building, enjoy a completely redeveloped facility block and can take their pick from hardstanding or super service pitches. Pitch here and you won’t be short of things to do. For starters you can enjoy the many attractions of the lake right from the campsite. Enjoy a steam cruise or have a go at dinghy sailing, power boating or windsurfing. Meet Peter Rabbit and friends at the World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness on Windermere. Catch the chain ferry to the western shore for the National Trust’s Claife Heights, ideal for walking and cycling, the pretty village of Hawkshead - home to Hill Top where Beatrix Potter once lived - and Grizedale Forest Park with its Go Ape high wire adventure area. Fell Foot Park at the lake’s southern tip is perfect for picnics and paddling. Near here you’ll also find the Lakeside and Haverthwaite steam railway and the Lakes Aquarium.
